Dan joined the firm in early 2013 as the Vice President of Consulting for The Rainmaker Companies. With 30 years of experience successfully growing accounting firms, Dan understands the challenges and opportunities accounting firms face. He has a passion and a talent for helping firms grow and succeed.

In his role as CEO Dan continues serving Rainmaker client needs in strategic and growth consulting in addition to leading the Rainmaker executive team.
Prior to joining Rainmaker, Dan was instrumental in expanding the McGladrey Alliance from a group of 12 to more than 100 firms throughout the United States. As a Board member and leader of the Southeast region of RSM McGladrey, he helped drive double-digit growth and worked closely with senior accounting firm leaders to strengthen and transform their businesses. Through his coaching, training, strategic planning and accountability development skills, Dan guides senior leaders to new levels of success. Rainmaker clients directly benefit from Dan’s vast experience and proven acumen for growing CPA firms.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University. He is an experienced author and speaker known throughout the accounting industry and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dan and his family live in Nashville where he strives to balance his busy client service schedule with family time and an occasional round of golf.


Angie Grissom

Angie serves as President of The Rainmaker Companies and previously served as the Director of Consulting for The Rainmaker Companies for over ten years. Her role in the firm involves high level strategy and implementation, curriculum development in The Rainmaker Academy, training, consulting and thought leadership.

Consistently named by Accounting Today Magazine as “one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” and listed as a “Top 25 Thought Leader” as well as one of the “40 Under 40” in the Accounting Industry by CPA Practice Advisor. Grissom is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and a regular contributor in publications. Angie was published in a national “Ask Angie” column for several years, writes and contributes to practice management articles is the “She” in the regular published column in Accounting Today known as “He Said, She Said” which highlights and debates topics and issues in the accounting industry from leadership to generational differences. Angie is renowned for her influence in and passion for the industry. She brings all this to her role at The Rainmaker Companies, striving to share her proven knowledge and know-how to transform the lives of clients through consulting, coaching, training and developing accountability within firms.
Prior to joining Rainmaker, Angie worked in organizational management, sales and human resources. She has served as President of the American Society of Women Accountants Music City chapter, a member of the industry group New Horizons, a member of the CPACA Alliance for accounting industry consultants, Association for Accounting Marketing and the Association for Training and Development.

Angie earned her BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Pre-Law at Middle Tennessee State University and has completed Masters level work with an MBA emphasis. Angie is married with two sons, loves to be active, is a foodie and enjoys travel and photography.


Patrick Pruett

Patrick helps accounting firms around the world by facilitating connections among members, providing consultative support and delivering high quality resources that enable firms to better compete and improve the management of their practices. As the leader of The Rainmaker Alliances, he presents at national and international conferences and delivers Rainmaker training programs. Patrick specializes in working with firms that have a strategic niche they want to grow and develop.

Patrick joined the company as part of the Member Support Team of Enterprise Worldwide, an international association of independent accounting firms. Patrick was then promoted to Executive Director of Enterprise Worldwide and subsequently became a shareholder in the firm. Patrick is currently Executive Vice President of The Rainmaker Companies.

Prior to joining Rainmaker, Patrick worked for a management consulting firm that specialized in leadership development. Patrick has also lived and worked in New Zealand where he was involved in multiple startup operations including the formation of an international airline. He is regularly published in a variety of publications and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives.

Patrick is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (BA) and also holds an MBA from Massey University in New Zealand. He has a passion for family time with his wife Michelle and their three children, as well as reading, writing, most kinds of sport, back porch grilling and getting connected to the world through travel.

As an Executive Vice President of The Rainmaker Companies, Adelaide heads up our international association, Enterprise Worldwide. Her consultative support and expertise help member firms grow faster and become more profitable than their competitors. She coordinates member-to-member referrals, ensuring that EW members have a quality resource for their clients whether in another state or across the globe and regularly works with firms to achieve their strategic objectives.

Adelaide is a bilingual and bicultural citizen of the United States and France. Her unique background gives her the ability to connect with people around the world. As a consultant and frequent speaker around the world, her capacity to understand the cultural differences and nuances of different locales makes her a valuable asset to The Rainmaker Companies. Her penchant for all things communication, marketing and business development have helped clients in their client service and growth goals.

Adelaide served as the Vice President of Communications on the board of the American Women’s Group in Paris from 2008 to 2010. In 2010 she was awarded with the “Woman of the Year” award for her contributions to the organization. Currently, Adelaide is serving as the Graphic Design Chair at the Junior League of Nashville and serves on the board of the Friends of Nashville Ballet.

Adelaide earned her BA in French, Spanish and Communications from Vanderbilt University and her MA in Global Communications with an emphasis in Advertising and Branding from the American University of Paris. When out of the office, you can usually find her spending time with her husband Matthew, their two daughters, Eleonore and Josephine, and their dog, Napoleon. Adelaide is an avid runner and will be running the 2014 Boston Marathon for the first time! She also enjoys Bikram yoga, good books, great food and wine and globe-trotting.

As Senior Vice President of The Rainmaker Companies, Scott helps firms optimize their growth capability by approaching it from a holistic perspective. He has developed a strong expertise in the strategic growth of professional service firms over his 24-year career of leading integrated marketing and business development programs.

Prior to joining The Rainmaker Companies, his experience includes having served as CMO for a Top 20 U.S. accounting firm where he led marketing and business development initiatives that helped drive 12-fold revenue growth over 14 years.

Scott enjoys contributing to the industry through collaboration, leadership and knowledge-sharing. He has served as President of the Association for Accounting Marketing; was named among the “Top 100 Most Influential People in the Accounting Industry” by Accounting Today; and was recognized as the “Accounting Marketer of the Year” by AAM and the CPA Practice Management Forum.
